About the event
Juneteenth Hibiscus Tea Celebration
Join the Chicago Afternoon Tea Society for an intimate Juneteenth tea celebration rooted in culture, flavor, and intentional community. On June 13th, we're gathering in the heart of Bronzeville to honor freedom the way it deserves to be honored — beautifully, deliberately, and together.
At the center of it all is hibiscus. Bold, tart, deeply rooted in African and Southern tradition, hibiscus has long been a symbol of celebration and resilience.
One plant. Four cultures. Four expressions of the same root.
This season, we're tracing the African diaspora through a single flower — and the result is a tasting experience unlike anything you've had before.
