Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on March 2026.
Chicago Afternoon Tea Society is committed to ensuring our website, events, and community spaces are accessible to all guests regardless of disability or ability. We strive to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines and the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
What web accessibility is
An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.
Website
Our Wix-based website is built with accessible navigation, alt text on images, sufficient color contrast, keyboard-navigable menus, and mobile-responsive design. Third-party platforms such as Eventbrite and Facebook have their own accessibility standards. If you encounter a barrier on any platform, contact us and we will assist you directly.
In-Person Events
We publish venue accessibility details — including entrance, parking, seating, and restroom information — in every event listing. We also offer:
-
Seating that accommodates mobility devices
-
Dietary and sensory accommodations upon request
-
Service animals welcome at all events (ADA compliant)
-
A designated point of contact at every event for guest assistance

Feedback

A welcoming space begins before anyone walks through the door.
